3Fall Dance Company 2020/21 Tour

Paper Heart - Luke Brown

Ensemble and soloist

Paper Heart looked at how behind most powerful things is extreme vulnerability. As Dancers we explored the notion of respect for each other, for light and how objects can be so fragile yet so strong such as paper.

ABECEDA - Virginia Farman
Ensemble and Soloist

The inspiration for the work is drawn from the Photographic-dance alphabet created by Czech avantgarde artist and writer Karel Teige in 1926. As a company we worked with Farman explore what these images meant to us as dances in relation to the performance space.

Zoots, Dash and Panache - Abi Mortimer
Ensemble, soloist and duet

This work celebrates community and individuals. This work is episodic drawing on inspiration from iconic performers who wear suites (Michael Jackson, Madonna, Annie Lenox, Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly). The work does not aim to copy or imitate the icons but noting and considering the style, personality and chorographic signatures. Translating this into a personal meaning enabling the company dancers to find there own narrative in the movement.

And Still We Move (3Fall & 3Fall Youth Dance Film) (2020/21)

Choreographed by Shaun Dillon

Ensemble and small grope

The context of this film was to create a psycho-graphic piece of work that celebrates the beautiful geography surrounding the Chichester and Shoreham areas. Whilst, simultaneously bringing together both companies for the first time to move as one. Within gropes we we given different stimuli/locations to use and create movement that was sensitive to the location before coming together as one.

Made of Glass (2020)

Choregraphed by - Amber Emily Palfreyman
Performed by - George Lomax and Amber Emily Palfreyman
Duet

A duet exploring the different feelings you feel after having an argument with a close friend. We begin the piece with one dancer on stage; this solo represents the feeling of vulnerability after you trust is broken. When the second dancer enters the space, we see the tone shift slightly as the second dancer is trying to reason with the first. Throughout the dance we see elements of sadness, vulnerability, reasoning, and anger as the dancers discuss whether their friendship is worth saving.
